Working with Children and Young People
Daniel Cumber Psychology can where necessary also include some direct work with children and young people, as long as this work informs greater systemic level change for them.
The types of direct work that will be considered include:
- Observations in class/play to inform consultation.
- Coaching sessions with children/young people directly or indirectly. These may focus on motivation, learning or executive functioning or emotional literacy (anger, anxiety, attachment needs).
- Eliciting child/pupil voice via a variety of psychologically appropriate tools and methods (directly or indirectly).
- Therapeutic exploration of needs e.g. Personal Construct Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy.
